In the 15-minute city concept all residents can fulfill the most important life needs within a 15-minute walk or bicycle ride from their home. The project was created to help tackle congestion and improve the life quality of people living in densely populated metropolitan areas. How can Delipop play a significant role in the transformation of the cities according to this concept? Let’s investigate!
Paris, Melbourne, Milan and others are planning to become “15 minute cities”, where everything you need is within a 15 minute radius on foot or bike. Apart from increasing people’s convenience and making the urban life more pleasant, it also cuts down car use and CO2 emissions.
As one of the urban innovations in the 15 minute city, buildings will be used for multiple purposes (i.e. schools might host different events at weekends) and the whole concept aims to nurture local pride “l’amour des lieux”.
In order to have that we have to rethink and redesign most of the things we do in everyday life. This concept also has a direct impact on how we shop and get our food. The e-grocery pickup points have to be available in the closest neighborhood, with food delivered regularly and in an eco-friendly way. With 1 Delipop and just 1 delivery car – we are able to serve 200+ households daily, which clearly shows the advantage of Delipop over traditional delivery.
“As Delipop – we’d love to and we plan to work closely with the authorities of the city of Paris and French retailers to make this vision come true tomorrow. And Retail Robotics will deliver all necessary technology,” – says Marek Piotrowski, CMO at Delipop.
